Splash Mountain - Magic Kingdom, Walt Disney World

Disney At Night

Splash Mountain is located in Frontierland in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World is a log flume ride based on characters, stories, and songs from the 1946 Disney film, Song of the South.  The ride tells the story of Br'er Rabbit who leaves home in search of adventure.  Along the way Br'er Fox and Br'er Bear try to catch him, but are repeatedly tricked to letting him go.  Br'er Fox eventually catches Br'er Rabbit, but Br'er Rabbit uses reverse psychology to trick Br'er Fox to throwing him down the briar patch here he escapes - this is the 50 foot drop in the ride.

When I took this shot, the ride was shut down, so I was able to set-up my mini-tripod right on the top of the wall in front of the ride without getting wet.  Since I had the time, I wanted to do a long exposure to give the reflection in the water a silky smooth effect.

The settings for this shot were aperture f/8.0, a 10 second long shutter speed, ISO 100 and an 18mm focal length.

Have fun capturing the magic of Disney.
