The Mighty Everest

Legend of The Forbidden Mountain

The mighty Everest rises above the jungles of the Tibetan Plateau at the top of the Himalayas.  As the legend goes, the mountain is protected by a fierce monster known as a Yeti.  Explorers can take an expedition by train through the mountain if they dare to brave the dangers of of the old train or the Yeti.

If you want to get a good shot of the mighty Everest you are better off not being right up close.  This shot is taken in Animal Kingdom on the bridge from Discovery Island going into Harambe Village in Africa.

I took 3 bracketed shots to make this HDR (High Dynamic Range) image and performed post processing by merging the three images and tone mapping the merged HDR image in Adobe Lightroom.  For the normal exposure, my camera settings were aperture set to f/7.1, 1/800 sec, ISO100 at 86mm (1.5x crop).  This was taken handheld without a tripod.  I was fortunate to get some nice clouds in this shot, and I also composed the image using the rule-of-thirds.

So there you have the location and the camera setting.  Have fun exploring the mighty Everest and beware the Yeti!
